Sub-Prime Mortgages Fail, Oil Continues Upward Climb. When Will They Admit It?

July 14, 2008

When will our Representatives admit the current INFLATIONARY CRISIS is upon us?  The banks do not need to be rewarded for making bad loans, they should be rewarded for good business practices.

I believe it to be a mistake to bailout the S&Ls again because of Sub-Prime Mortgages.  These products were established for people who have poor credit records, not deadbeats who do not want to pay.  While I sympathize with those good people who have truly been hurt by the downturn of the Economy, the Bankers should not be the ones rewarded.

Also, the Speculators continue their bull market in Oil.  No more will there be any cheap oil.  The President is wise to insist on the new drilling and releasing from the National Oil Reserve.  The Oil Barons are trying to make as much profit as they can, and it is up to us whether we will buy or not.

How much is too much?  I, myself have cut my gasoline consumption to ZERO.  Anyone out there got any tips on a good mule?  I think at this point, it might be cheaper to go back to the horse and buggy of old.  Mybe then life might be able to slow down a bit.  The bad thing is, the Trucking Industry, Railroad, and Shipping, are all suffering because of what the Oil Barons are doing to us.

Here are some tips:

Set up Shopping Days with your neighbors to go to the store together

Carpool to and from work

Consolidate Trips and if your neighbors have needs, help them out

Drag out Grandpa's old lawn mower.  It doesn't use any gas.

Use a shovel and pick-axe for Gardening .  Don't forget the hedge clippers.  Use the kind with the handles

Walk to where you need to go, you need the excercise

Use Public Transportation whenever possible.  Bus, Taxi, Limo, etc.

Prepare for a significant raise in your taxes

Use Farmer's Markets as much as possible.  Better food comes from the source
